    homemade bow press options

I have the 2” square tubing cut to a 32” base and 2 of the arms at 15” each. Would it be better to have someone weld some tabs on the end of the arms to attach to the base as in the first pic circled in red? Or would it be reasonable to cut the arms open to leave tabs attached and bend the tabs left attached to fit over the base similar to pic 2 circled in red?

I believe it would be stronger to use the setup in picture 2. BUT to do that the square tubing will need to be 2 1/4" or larger, to fit on the outside of the 2" tubing. If you do not wish to go to larger tubing I would cut the tabs and weld them to the short arms.

agree with option 2 much stronger choice. I have a few pics in the DIY, on the one I made just a few more ideas.

i dont know how to get any larger square tube so if i did option2 it would have to be bent to fit.
