What do you pay to get your taxes done?

I have an outside sales job so my taxes get confusing. I write off my home office some garage space for product samples etc. My lady in San Antonio charges me $600-$800. I know it is a lot but she does a good job and I usually get back more than the other guys I work with. My question is what do ya'll pay and am I getting ripped off??

        I pay about $50...turbo tax.

I've done turbo tax for years now...unless you own your own business, I couldn't imagine paying someone hundreds of dollars to do my taxes.

If you're a working schmoe like me, and get a paycheck with a normal deduction...and you're not trying to write off every pencil you had to buy, it works well.

Over the last 6 yrs I would say an average cost of $150.00 with my CPA.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I entered all my numbers in turbo tax and it showed a healthy refund, then I entered them in tax cut and it showed me owing a couple hundred bucks. If I can stay off the green screen long enough I may find out what is going on between the two.

I have a small business and pay around your high end for both business and personal returns. Maybe a little more. I'd rather give it to a CPA than to the IRS.

I get mine done for free...my sister is a CPA and lives up the road in Austin.

Once I get married, I think it might get costly b/c I have no idea what my fiancee's cpa has going on with her stuff.

I have no interest in doing my own taxes.

turbo tax will always cover its own butt. the benefit of the doubt will always go to TT, not to you. Same for H&R Block and all the other agencies.

I want an accountant who's on parole for tax evasion

Ive been audited. I didnt even have to show up and I ended up getting more $$ back from the IRS...
