Maybe yes, maybe no. The 9mm is the caliber and 9mm+p is not a caliber but a round with higher pressures or in effect, a magnum. I have a 9mm pistol that is designed to use +p but it does not designate it on the frame.

Look in the owner's manual or look on the internet for the info on that particular pistol and see if it is rated for +p.

What tvc said, additionally, you can contact the manufacturer (most have customer service phone lines) to confirm whether the gun can handle +P or +P+.
