The problem with the glue you have is age.
I have used Fletch-Tite exclusively for the last 9 years, on carbon, with Blazer vanes and don't have ANY problems.
Clean the shaft with denatured alcohol, clean the base of the vanes with same, use fresh Fletch-Tite, and you'll have to cut the vanes off.
Of course I only fletch about 500 dozen arrows a year so I could be wrong.

Yep, clean up shaft with acetone, ruff it up with a little fine sand paper, clean again and glue away.

Edit: wipe vanes off as well.

                      Fletching Glue

Try the Fletch-Tite Platinum. The regular Fletch -Tite doesnt work on carbon and not very well on aluminum.
Duravanes stick better and are more durable than any I tried.

I used Bohning Platinum and it works good if you prep your arrows right. I'm using Goat Tuff now and the same is true. What I like about these over super glue is that they are easier to refletch if needed.
And I fletch Blazers and don't clean the base of the vane. Bohning says you don't need to and I haven't needed to either...
Just used Goat Tuff an hour ago getting ready for my axis hunt.

One more thing, put a drop of glue on the leading edge of the vane and it will stay on better.

Assuming you are using new glue and not some glue that you've had sitting around the house for a long time, when you loose a vane check to see if the glue is stuck to the vane or the arrow shaft, this will tell you were your problem is orginating from. If the glue is stuck to the arrow shaft, YOU NEED TO CLEAN THE BASE OF THE VANE BETTER. If the glue is stuck to the base of the vane, YOU NEED TO CLEAN THE ARROW SHAFT BETTER. It'a all a matter of one of the two surfaces not being cleaned well enough.
                          That's my .02

We use Goat Tuff ans Quantlum at Gander> both are good. Goat tuff may be the best.

                            Good Luck
