Not 2 or 3 or 4 just 1. Nothing wrong with it.
Even had a Dr. Doing research on FD personnel, told most of my guys to drink a little more
Explain the last part. The doc told you and your crew to drink more? I like that idea... But why?

If you can't stop thinking about it and count days until you're done, it has control over you, which is a problem.

Exactly what I meant to say but you were able to articulate much better.

Regardless, it’s great to see people discussing in a constructive manner. I think a lot of us grew up not even talking about it and assuming being a heavy drinker is just the way life goes.

All of you guys who have put it down or are taking steps to have a better grasp
        On it, way to go!

Neighbor: I'm checking myself into rehab.

          Me: For what?

          Neighbor: I'm an alcoholic.

Me: I didn't even know you drank?

Neighbor: Oh yea, I can buy a 6 pack on Friday and by Sunday evening it's gone.

          Me: Speechless.

          True story.

And I'm a firm believer. I know a hand full of people that have suffered from strokes or cardiac issues and not a single one of them drank.

I’m too tired after working all day. Will only drink beer on Friday or Saturday and never on Sunday. and most times I won’t drink for several weeks.

What about 10-18 beers every day for 2 weeks,
then take a 2 week break,
                    Repeat..? that bad? or ok?

2-3 drinks daily is a much better option in my opinion.

Me personally - Generally a Thursday through Sunday night thing, considering all other nights "school nights". My folks in 70's retired on farm, enjoy at least one brew each night of the week.

I would ask her "why it bothers her" and listen without emotion with boy ears for her response. Maybe it's nagging/control, maybe it's because how it impacts you (big difference between the two)!

nope, don't drink alcohol or beer at all. Why would I when I can make a gallon of tea for a few cents?

Being a shift worker for going on 45 yrs I have no sleep rhythm. A beer or 3 before dinner helps me out on that. But I seldom drink when working nights cause barely getting the buzz then going to sleep seems wasteful to me, and I can't drink Before work so....
With that said. When the little Lady & I got married 32 years ago, She saw I liked to drink, sometimes to excess. (She rarely touches the stuff) She asked me to limit myself to 2 per day. I agreed. Few years later we re-negotiated. Now I can drink 3. Few years after that, another re-negotiation proved fruitless so I went from 3, 12 oz'ers to 3 16's/day. Thinkin about going to Quarts now!

Not everyday, a twelve pack will last a month in my fridge. Now if I’ve been working outside and it’s hot, I’ll put a few down really fast. I do like a whiskey drink on the weekends every now and then. Still working on the same bottle of Rebecca’s Creek for three months.
