    Polaris problems....

I have a 93 Polaris 350 which is almost identical to a 94 sportsman 400 and it quit yesterday. I know it's old but has always ran perfectly without a problem. Probably put 25 miles on it this weekend just tooling around the lease when it spit and sputtered a couple times and died. The motor seems locked up pretty good as the starter nor the pull rope can budge it. Any ideas what could have happened. I always premix oil and it ran like a top all weekend. Just not sure what could have let go that quickly.

If I have to rebuild the motor, I probably will but I really hate working on those things as nothing is easy to get to!

Sounds like a piston ring may have broke and locked up in the cylinder wall. You should be able to rebuilt fairly easy. Really not much to those engines.

Sounds like it's just tired and needs a breath of fresh life. Rebuild and drive on. My 91' Kawasaki is due a rebuild as well and I am finding the parts on EBAY ALOT cheeper than buying from the dealer.
