    Sam Rayburn lake today

Sorry having difficulties post videos. The lake today has some serious waves with the water high and north winds. They have closed the Hwy 147 long bridge a couple of times north of Zavalla.

In for video. Would love to see it. I know it had to be rolling and Livingston too.

Drove across ol’ Sam on RE 255 today while on patrol. First time I’ve ever caught water spray on the windshield. The rock levees above the actual dam have been under water for over a week. Wouldn’t be surprised afterwards there’s significant damage exposed.

Docks at twin dikes broke free and caused some damage.

Just curious regarding the Labyrinth Spillway system at Rayburn. As best I remember, I do not recall the spillway effluent ever passing under 255 and rejoining the Angelina River. Where will the overflow water go? I realize the catch area is pretty large but with the extra rain, the Corps has stated the spillway will be engaged at some point this week.

Looks like a few big events will be rescheduled as well. I've heard the Corps will not reopen their ramps until the water has been off the asphalt for 14 days. That will put them postponing the second High School event on Feb 9th.

My camp is south of the 147 bridge. I guess I won't be crappie fishing under it any time soon.

There's a lot of brush piles in Julie creek. :-)

A little more water and you could launch in Julie without your truck tires ever leaving 147
