I think I get 12 sacks in mine that do not have funnels. If its not 12 its really close.

We have shallow funnels in our 85 gal barrels and they hold exactly 500lbs. I mean it is smooth level at the top.

              I put 350 lbs in my 55 gal. feeder. 350 divided by 55 times 85 =540 lbs

Yup. I got 2 of the 600# fdrs. Last 2 they had. I've been to several academys. Only found 2. I have 6 fdrs to replace on 3 different properties.

PI x radius squared x height gets you the volume
Without a funnel in the bottom of the barrel, an 85 gallon barrel will hold 511.45 pounds of shelled corn

How much do they usually cost when you can find them?

My feeders are 110 gallons (2 55's welded together & no funnel) and they will hold right at 14 bags or 700 lbs. So my math is 1400lbs/110gallons*85 gallons= 541lbs (without funnel)
