Had the pleasure of taking the wife out to work on her Fallow slam and this time we were after a spotted one, I had talked to the outfitter about the hunt and he told me this fallow was a beast! Well we ended up hunting him in early December and with no luck we couldn’t get on him, plan was to come back and hunt after New Years day.
Well the day and we arrived at the ranch andby now they had a good pattern on where he was hanging out, with luck she able to get him on our first sit that evening. Well the wife made a great shot and the blood trail started, man when we walked up to him I was amazed on how big the fallow was, as soon as the guide saw him he looks at me wife and tells her “ we need to get him scored he’s big” we at 28 degrees and icey we took pics and did all the caping and butchering.
Well i couldnt go and not get into the action lol, I decided to take an axis doe for the freezer, keep in mind this was a rifle hunt, man sure did miss firing a rifle let me tell you.
We ended up getting the fallow scored and ended up # 10 in the books!! Now i gotta hear the am a better hunter then you comments from the wife lol so am in the search to beat her believe me!!
