    Trail Camera Password Reset

A vendor gave me a Trail Sentry camera to try to see if I want to sell their camera line.

I opened the book and started setting it up and changed the password as it told me to do.

Now when I turn it on and try to put the password in, I get an Error message.

I called the fine Customer Service at Bushnell and Shanequia told me that my only option was to box it up and send it in to be reset.

Surely there is way to reset the camera and start over.

    Any suggestions?

I do not believe there is a "user" work around for the password...at least I would hope there would not be.

I'm the lead mod over at CG. A question/post like that will get locked immediately if I see it. Not trying to be a horses butt about it at all, but if there was a way to get around the password, I sure would not want it posted on the internet. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a password in the first place.

Antlermax, have you contacted the vendor? Maybe they can get the manufacturer to help you out short of having to send it back. I'd think there is a simple reset pw code they use. Gettin them to give it to you is the problem.

        Good luck with it!

WARNING............I've never done this on that type of camera. But, usually if you take a knife or other metal object and bridge the positive and negative posts it will reset.

It's worked for me on a cuddeback camera and a Hill Country feeder timer.

I emailed a guy about this particular camera.
Also, i think i read somewhere they are discontinued?

Anyways, for those of you who need to reset the password of "your" camera.
Here is what the email said.

            1. Turn camera on and wait for the password screen.

            2. Press and hold the enter button until the camera switches to the 5 digit password mode. "Trail sentury cams will not indicate a 5 digit mode on the screen, but it will show "-----".

3.Press enter to confirm 5 digit mode.

            4. Enter the 5 digit code "66214, then press enter. *Note it will accept a 5th digit.*

5.Camera should display "PASS" and go into the operating mode.
From here you can program a new password from the setup mode.

**If this is a working work around, that makes the password option useless. But is less of a pain then having to send it to manufacturer.

Only makes the pw feature useless if this is common knowledge.

I read it was, but if they still sell these I can see what you mean.
Even tho it has a password protection, it won't stop it from being stolen anyways.
Also it is already common knowledge if I can find out how in less then ten minutes.
