Had a trip booked for LOP that we moved to Sandlin yesterday due to the flooding. It was one of those days that make me love that little lake. The fish were really aggressive but ran a little small. They caught well over 100 fish but only had 24 that we put on ice that were in the 11 to 12" range. most of the others were right on 10". On the way out I stopped at one last place looking for some slabs.
I normally stop about 50 yards from a pile and ease up to it with the trolling motor. As soon as I stopped and dropped the live scope I saw we were right on top of a school of white bass. We never made it to the tree. They started throwing in fish faster than I could take them off the hook and we added 40 whites to the ice chest. It was really something to watch that school swarming on the live scope.
The crappie were caught a 1/8 oz gray ghost jigs in 20ish foot of water. The whites were from a point about the same depth.

Sandlin was too easy this afternoon
It seems every tree is holding fish. You do have to sort through the small ones but I carried a buddy this afternoon to prefish for a paid trip tomorrow.
we pretty much found fish everywhere we stopped.
i don’t know how many we caught this afternoon but we kept 30 slabs for a fish fry.
it was a great afternoon to be on the water

Had the Cummins on the boat today on Bob Sandlin
They did not catch fish as fast as we did yesterday but they caught way better fish with 2 over 15”. The rain hammered us at the end but they had 35 really nice fish on ice.
All fish caught on jigs with most coming off standing timber and a few off brush all in 20 ish foot of water

We hit the lake for a couple hours yesterday and it wasn't near as good as a week ago but we still had a mess and some good sized fish. Threw back 2 to every one we kept though I bet.

If you are on Sandlin this weekend and see a group of dummies putting their hands in underwater holes, stop and say hi to us!
