My favorite is the 40KAP Headlamp from Sniper Hog Lights. They are a sponsor here and this Headlamp is Topnotch.

Sniper Hog Lights has some awesome video's on their site, with red shining bright to 100+ yards. My next one for hog hunting will be through them.

Dont really need it to hunt, just need it for getting to and from the blind in the dark and stuff like that, without using the bright white light. But maybe need the bright white light to track something if needed. Have an academy close to me.

They are a little cheaper on ebay sometimes.

That’s what use. I forget if it’s the Storm or Spot but it can do white and red. Little bit of a learning curve w/ using the black diamond but they are great.

Like you I wanted one for the green or red getting to and from the blind. I went with the black diamonds because I wanted something that had that option but also a bright enough light I could eliminate a flashlight all together when in the backcountry hunting out of my backpack.

I buy cheap ones off amazon. Find one with a good rating and save extra cash for something else.

Check out Petzl, I have one and it works great. Three brightness settings including red.

                          x2!!!

I've had so many headlamps over the last 20 years that I've lost count. I liked things about a few of them but for the most part I didn't like any of them enough to buy them again if they wore out, quit working or if I lost them.

I love my Black Diamond headlamp and would absolutely get another if I ever lost this one.

I use Coast. They are lightweight and have an unlimited lifetime warranty. I use the red light to get to the stand and it will light red for about 20 yards. The white light on it will go to 75-90 yards. This is the 300 lumen one. They also make a 450 and 650 lumen one. They are available at hardware stores.

I might look at the Sniper lights, too.

The Sniper 40KAP is a game changer tracking deer and spotlighting varmints. Brightest headlight I have ever seen. I was so impressed with it watching FND track, I bought one myself, and then bought 3 more for my two brothers and Dad. They love them.
