    Need help with arrows

Hey guys, I haven't bow hunted in a few years just haven't had the opportunity. However I'm going on my once in a lifetime trip in April and need some help with arrows. Last time I hunted I was using the carbon Express pile driver 350 small diameter. Takes a g size nock. They dont make them anymore and I only have 4 arrows I would like to get more so does anyone know the newer model equivalent arrow that I can buy and won't have to change much on my bow. Which I pulled out today and still shoots great I just need practice. Thanks in advance

Kevin, go buy some Easton Full Metal Jackets and be done with it. In my opinion, you'll be glad you did.

You may be under thinking this. List out the specs on your bow for better answers. Your arrow is just as important as the rest of your equipment. I will also second the FMJ's. Sturdy arrow that stands up well to abuse.

OK, complete newbie question — I just ordered a dozen Carbon Express Max when I ordered my new bow (based on what the shop recommended). So you’re saying I should have gone with FMJ?

My bow will be 29”, 70#. Plan on hunting deer, hogs and turkeys.

No, I'm just partial to FMJ's. Spine, length, GPI, FOC, etc are what come into play. Y'all will get allot of good advice if you post in equipment and tuning.

I have a creed 29"@70# was just trying to stay with same arrow so wouldn't have to change much. But they don't make them anymore

Once in a lifetime hunt, and you have till April to tweak your bow a little should you need to? I wouldn't be so worried about budget arrows that are compatible to your old ones.

                  But that's just me

                  FMJ all the way!

After a few years of not shooting your bow I would be worried the bow strings may need to be replaced. It would be terrible for it to break and possible cause limb problems before your big hunt.

If you want to reuse nocks, look at the knock website and find other manufacturers that use the same nock size, then select an arrow from that with similar gpi, length and stiffness.

Sounds like you are wanting to go as cheap as possible - most would not have this position if it was a once in a lifetime trip. What are you hunting?

Why not look on the Carbon Express website or call them. Per the website, they still make a Pile Driver.. and it's the same specs..I think as the older version.

I had all strings and cables checked and they are good I kept it stored in good conditions.

I'm not looking to go as cheap ad possible I'm just not one to waste what I have especially if it works.

As far as what I'm hunting I will be going to new Zealand for red stag the reason I'm trying to save money is because I'm trying to save all spare funds for the trip

Why would you spend thousands of dollars to go on a hunt and then skimp on the arrows? Come on man.

That's like spending thousands on your gun and then adding a crappy scope. Go buy some FMJs and some new lighted nocks and be done with it. Small potatoes Kevin in comparison.
