    Vehicle Maintenance ?

How many of y’all have your transmission fluid changed or flushed? Power steeering fluid changed? Typically, I’ve only focused on oil changes in my vehicles. I’ve never had a vehicle manufacturer void their warranty because you didn’t follow their recommended maintenance to a tee. Just curious if any others go beyond the typical oil changes?

I had my transmission flushed at 90,000 They said the fluid was getting dark. I haven't noticed a difference.

I do what my owners manual says, or possibly a little sooner.

Most people will tell you not to flush your transmission fluid, just change it.

If you aren’t flushing your trans fluid in a regular basis don’t start now. Just change the fluid and filter and move on. More often then not a flush does more damage to an older or high mileage transmission than good.

I’ve got 330,000 on my current duramax and have never done anything but check the fluid level. My rule with transmissions is that you don’t mess with them until you have to. I don’t even change the external filter on the alisons. I buy my trucks new and run them 350,000-400,000 miles over 8 to 10 years.
