    And you don’t have to cook them at 225-250.

    I like to do butts at 300* because it doesn’t take as long and I’ve seen no difference in the quality of the finished product. It usually takes until it is 203-205 internal before it probes like butter at the higher temps. For me.

    When I smoked the butts at 225-250, I used a rough estimate of 1 1/2 hours per pound. At the higher temps, I use a rough estimate of 1 hour per pound.

    You mileage may vary.

        Thanks guys!

        BTW, they come out awesome in the crockpot for shredded tacos. I used a season with chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, lime, cinnamon. Money!!!
