What is the best baitcast reel on the market right now? Anyone throwing Lews? Got a new rod Waterloo 6’9” HP Slam Mag for Christmas and want to get a new reel for it. Going to break it in down in Baffin in 2 weeks

Ford, dodge or Chevy? Kinda the same thing lol
But to answer my opinion rests on Shimano and AbuGarcia feels. Curados are hard to beat. I use several older Citica 200 DSVs bc of line capacity.
I do have a 13 reel that is really nice. I use it for fresh water but it a casting sumbuckLast edited by txoutdoorsman24; 12-30-2018, 05:01 PM.

When I quit saltwater fishing the shimano Curados (greenies) were hard to beat. Each year I would break them down and replace any rusted or frozen bearings and would be good to go again. The new Shimanos are just not the same quality. Maybe it's just the opposite, maybe the tolerances are just so much tighter any little piece of salt or sand and their done. I fished saltwater hard and never had an Abu, Quantum or Diawa last more than a season. All of my freshwater reels are lews. They just seem to get better with age like the old Shimano Curados did.

Here you go - https://www.lafishblog.com/how-to-se...re-baitcaster/
The info in the blog is worth reading IMO, but the two he uses are:
13 Fishing’s Concept A
Abu Garcia’s Revo Inshore
