I made the mistake of throwing half a taco bell burrito out my blind window once. A skunk was on it right away and every time I tried to open the door to get out, it'd spook and lift its tail. It never spooked enough to leave the delicious vittles, mind you, but it spooked.

That skunk won the standoff for over an hour. I would have shot it but I was worried it'd release everything when it died and my blind was surrounded with tall grass. No way to walk out without brushing up against the juice if it had sprayed.

The stinker may have had several little stinkers standing nearby and out of plain view that were called in as reinforcements to help stink up the situation even worse after this photo was taken.

Word on the street or um in the woods is that the buck ran several counties away in shameful defeat. None of the does in his preferred area will speak to him. They’ve all heard the latest gossip.
