Melanistic??

I am just talking the color of her head and neck, to me it is like a chocolate color. No, she is not full blown black, but to me she don't look like a normal colored deer. I may be wrong, but it has happened before.

Now, there is something I did not think of, what make you think Fallow? ( I really have no clue, I have never hunted them or even seen very many )

I think its just the way the shadows are hitting her...plus bad clarity on the over all pic too...

Plain normal whitetail. I think it’s just the angle to the camera and sun as well as picture being a little fuzzy, the mind can play tricks on us. Would be cool if it was indeed melanistic.

It's just a normal whitetail doe IMO. Could be slightly darker hair on the head and neck or shadowed in that pic. She's not melanistic though.
