    Stoeger Competition questions

I found what I think is a good deal on a 20 ga stoeger competition o/u. Comes with a case, stock chokes and several extended chokes. Wood is in great shape. Bluing is good, not rust or pitting.

Who has shot the stoeger o/ u shotguns? What are your thoughts? Not interested in hearing comments on stoeger pump or semi auto opinions. I’d really like to hear first hand experience with the stoeger o/ u, preferably the competition model.

    Thanks

My Condor shoots just fine. It is very, very basic.

How long have you owned it? How many shots you think you’ve shot thru it?

Close to 10 years but probably only 500-1000 rounds. I haul it as my backup dove gun, and loan it out a lot.

Stoeger Condor here as well, bought used at a pawn shop for a steal so no idea how many rounds, but I have put 500+ through it with no issues at all.

I don't have one but two of the kids that shoot 4H with my boys do have them. They are adult guns, not youth model and have a lot of rounds through them, like a couple of hundred a week per gun. They love them and I have yet to see r hear of any issues. I would say these guns are 4 years old if that matters

Mike has the only positive report I’ve heard about Stoeger shotguns.

My son shoots on a HS team. I’m not a gun snob. Cheap shotguns won’t hold up to completion shooting. It will literally fall to pieces.
If you are shooting a lot, ammo and target costs will swallow any savings on the gun. I’d look for better quality.

The 12 ga weighs over 8 lbs- so it may hold up better than a field model.

If you want and over and under to shoot twice in dove season and a round or two of sporting clays- it will probably be just fine.

My wife has one in 20ga 26". I actually shoot it quite a bit for quail. Heavy gun that doesn't kick much and i dont have to worry to about scratching it in the field. I know a guy that has had one for about 10 years and puts around 500 or so rounds through it a year. He had to get both firing pins replaced last year. Other than that no issues. They are not Berettas but sold guns for the money. I wouldn't recommend them for competition shooting but for hunting it's not a bad choice. In 20ga i think they make a great womens/youth gun.

I agree with basschump. There is a reason you don't see them in many competitions compared to higher end guns.
