The buckshot that Paul will use is from ICC ammo, solid copper shot. Just ordered 5 boxes of 5. You can call ICC and get a discount code, speak to a guy named Ryan and tell him why you need non-lead- https://www.iccammo.com/collections/...ot-5-round-box
I'm going to call up to Paradise Cove tomorrow and see what is available, my favorites are in the 30's up off the lake, out of the wind and a short walk across the road for some relief.
also have some steel slugs (dduplex) shipping out from midway usa today, hopefully will be covered ammo wise

Guys, be sure you pattern your buckshot with various constriction tubes. A common mistake hunters make is throwing on a screw-in full choke then hit the woods. They get ticked off after wounding deer and hogs, cussing to never use buckshot again.
I reload 100% of my buckshot loads casting 98% of those with hard alloy lead.
I got loads that pattern super tight at 50 yards with a mod choke we’re using the same load with a full choke blew the pattern.
There’s special chokes out there designed specifically for buckshot. One of my sponsors is a company called Kick’s IND. they sent me two of their Buck Kicker chokes that patterning super tight with various sizes and loads.
I shot a doe last year at 56 yards with a handloaded 18 pellet 3.5” 12 ga load. 14/18 pellets hit. She didn’t take a step.
Here’s an article I wrote on that hunt:
Leon Guthrie - Long before $20/box sabot slugs, capable of accurately hitting big game out to 200 yards, graced the shelves of your local sporting goods store
Also, here’s some YouTube vids I did on buckshot:

I’ll be using slugs again this year. Had great luck with them in the past. This year, I’m using a copper jacket tin core bull bore slug:
Last year and the year before, we smashed them using steel expanding slugs. These are a plumbata-style slug that shoots MOA at 100 yards:
