Mine pops sometimes when in reverse and 4x4. If I’m easy with the gas, it doesn’t do it that bad. I run my 4x4 almost daily during the winter months

My 2017 F150 had a vacuum line issue grinding the iwb's trying to engage 4wd from a cold start. This happened at 120 miles. The genius mechanics at North central Ford had it twice last fall for over a week and couldn't fix it.

I finally found the answer on F150 ecoboost forums and bought a $9 vacuum valve on amazon that fixed the problem immediately. It took all of 1 minute to install and half that time was opening the hood.

Well, it only took 4 weeks but I got my truck back. They finally just replaced the transfer case! But, with a little prodding, they extended my warranty from 5/60k to 7/100k .
