Remington 600 Mohawk Trigger Guard Replacement

Ok, I know some of you guys think I'm crazy for making changes to this gun, but the plastic trigger guard is driving me nuts. The one on this gun isn't bad (and YES...I'll keep it in a safe place ), but it has a little warp to it. I'm looking at replacements, and have found that an actual steel replacement is super expensive, and that is *IF* you can find one in stock. I have found some made from machined aluminum though, and wanted to see what you guys thought about the durability of the machined version.

Would the aluminum version be a good replacement for the plastic guard?

Have you checked Midway USA? I think I remember their prices being very reasonable at least for the 700s. Aluminum would be better than plastic I guess.

        Wow!

I guess the one I was looking at was for the 700 adl. It was 30 to 50 bucks. Does yours have a detachable magazine or something?

How much is the plastic one?

Plastic is $35, but is on backorder. There are a few on Ebay, but I'd rather not get another plastic one.

No detachable mag, I guess they just know that they're rare, and hard to find. I've looked and looked for a better deal, but no luck so far.

I've had a 6MM Mohawk 600 for over 20 yrs that has a plastic trigger gaurd and have no warping issues. My dad gave me the rifle when I was around 13 yrs old and was treated poorly during this time but the rifle and plastic trigger gaurd has held up. I believe the trigger guard has fadded slightly but overall the plastic gaurd has worked well.

alum is a poor choice... anodizing will wear quickly and the white will show through...

leave the stock one on or replace with a blued steel...

I sell an aluminum replacement that everybody seems to like.
The Anodizing won't wear off any faster than the bluing and it won't rust, not to mention it's lighter.
$75.00 plus $9.99 S&H And I'll Guaranty you'll like it or your money back.
