We have leased our place for 27 years, its set up perfectly, long and fairly narrow, 1200 ac. We have 3 couples or families. Really like 2 husband and wives, one dad and young kid. One couple to the north end, one couple in the middle, and dad and son on south end. Someone wants to shoot something I have, does, turkey, mgmt. buck? Just ask or vice versa. Works very good really.

That's kinda what we were thinking was to give everyone an area to set up 2 blinds, with one of them being a community blind. If you dont come down and contribute to filling feeders and putting into what the rest of us do, you stick to your set up. I've seen deer make grown men do stupid things, just want to make it fair for everyone

Draw numbers on who gets first choice of stand location and go from there.
There is 6 of us on 1000 acres and after everyone picked their spot they are responsible for their blind and their feeder. Then when we fill feeders we fill everyone's feeder and keep up with who bought the corn and who owes what money to that person. I feed protein all year but that comes only from my pocket because it is my choice to feed all year.
We allow each other to hunt other people's stand as long as they are not there. We can also put up secondary stands in areas that aren't hunted.
It has worked for us for 17 years now with no problems.

I feel like I’m an exception to most, I like going around and filling feeders. Filling feeders is a great chance to drive around and cutting up with buddies.

This is a tough situation depending on the guys. If some people only hunt a few times a year where another guy hunts every weekend+. Some spots may be better than others but as another person mentioned I wouldn't want someone hunting my stand if I put a lot of effort into it and they don't. You can split up corn/protein, but in the end I think divided areas work best, and as long as you are friends hunting someone else's stand is just a phone call away.
Also 1300 acres is a lot of land. If it's truly just your group there give each person 100 acres to hunt on and the rest is community access. This way most of it is still hunt-able anytime.Last edited by FCoDxDart; 12-14-2018, 11:57 AM.

All our feeders are community. We split all costs equally. We feed year round and protein Jan-Sep. if a blind or feeder needs repair or replaced we all pay an equal amount of the cost. Any work is shared equally as we schedule trips when all are available. When it comes time to choosing a stand to hunt it is generally done just prior to going out. If someone has a particular stand they want to hunt they just say so, if two people wanted to hunt the same stand they just work it out. We are all good friends and co-workers and have known each other for a very long time. We are all at a place in our lives that it is more about the camp and spending time with friends and family anyway, sure we would all like to kill a giant buck but none of us are willing to bicker with one another over a stand. We are very fortunate that we all are such close friends and this works well for us.

If you just swapped around I could see that allowing a few to be lazy and cheap and trying to ride he coattails of those who are putting in more effort. Just my thoughts.... Works great for us.

Everything on our lease is community. It has its goods and bads, but overall I love it. You just have to have the right group with the right mindset for it to work. Can’t have guys getting their feelings hurt over stupid stuff. There are some unspoken rules.
We have 15 blinds/feeders and 10 members, so conflicts rarely arise, especially as it’s rare to see more than half of us out there at once. Everyone contributes in different ways, and some definitely more than others.
This season, we put out several new blinds. I shot a deer out of a blind another guy bought, and someone else shot one out of the blind I bought. Neither of us got butt hurt. Life is too short.

I don't like every blind being a community blind. Each person should have their own designated spot and then maybe a few community blinds. Like it was said above, community blinds=I can be lazy and not take care of my stuff and keep my feeder running and save money by hunting someone else's blind.
