    Double main beam ?

Got a question for the green screen. I have this young buck in the pic who has a double main beam on one side. We are fenced and I know the deer pretty well and have never seen that trait in one of our deer. His single beam side does look exactly like a deer I saw several times last year as a normal 8. I do not know if it’s the same buck or not but my question is will he have double beams every year from here on out or is it kind of like a droptine where it could never happen again and he will be normal from here on out?

From what I have read it normally occurs from an injury. It may or may not be back. Only time will tell.

This buck is 4 years old. He showed up at 2 yrs old and had a small kicker at his bases that was about 4 inches long. When he grew his horns the 3rd year, the 2nd main beam showed up, but was very weak. This year he grew the horns you see. Would have let him go another year, but the neighbors started day leasing their property. Afraid someone else would whack him after we have fed him for 2 years.
