Just curious on y’all that name deer....do their names ever change? Like if ole Mule Head has a rough summer and looks like a Ken doll come season. Would y’all change his name? Asking for a friend.

Nah...I dont name mine. I'm the only one who hunts my land so there's nobody else to talk to about em! If I call em anything, its "That big b*stard that only shows up between 11pm and 2am."

I understand. There's some hardcore deer namers here. I didn't think it'd strike a nerve with anyone. I didn't just come right out and say if you name deer you're weird.....

Although it is. I mean if you have a deer coming in to a feeder often enough that you know its name and you nourish that deer for 3 or 4 years,maybe more until it gets to a size that you consider it a trophy and then shoot it.....you just shot a pet. To me it is weird yeah but I really don't give a **** if someone names every deer they see for the rest of their lives if that's what makes you happy.

If you name deer I'm all for it. It's not hurting me any.

This. Makes it easy to indentify no shoot bucks, management bucks, and so forth. I have files and files of single deer with only pictures of them.
