Who all carries a PLB or EPIRB while hunting? I have had an older one for a while that relied on triangulating position using the low earth satellites. It was large and would only get searchers near you in an emergency. I saw this little PLB and ordered quickly. This thing is tiny and sends GPS cooridinants with the distress, supposed to get searchers within 100 meters.

For me, I hunt during the week alot with no one else at the lease. My wife has the GPS coordinates of the camphouse but 2800 acres is too broad a search area if I even had cell signal to alert anyone. The older PLB might take an hour to even triangulate, and was a pain to carry. This one is lighter than 10 rounds and less than 300 bucks. Seems like a no brainer.

I use a SPOT. I can send text with gps coordinates. Or hit the emergency button.
