2018/19 College Football Pre-Bowl Season

I was referring more to the State of Texas getting attacked by everyone in the country. There is probably not another state that gets recruited as hard as Texas from all over the country. Florida is probably the closest, but it seems every school has their sights set on hammering Texas. Schools from around the country are spending their recruiting efforts in Texas.

With Texas being down, it has help open the door for other schools to wedge their way in. Texas has been one of the final hats on the table for a lot of kids leaving the state, so I believe if they can get back to winning they should start winning some of the battles. I do think with social media, camps, trainers, 7 on 7 tournaments the door is blown open to kids leaving the state and schools attacking Texas.

I do think Texas, Texas A&M, and OU (yes, I count OU as a "local" school in Texas recruiting) have an opportunity to put up a good fight to keep kids local, but they are going to have to win to do so.

I know what you were saying and agree with everything you’ve said, but I still think the way things are now days the days of old powerhouses just having a forsure lock at getting a kid is a done deal with the new social media and television coverage of more schools

I agree with this as well. I do think your top 15 schools are the same every year when it comes to getting the top recruits.

Yes, but I think that top 15 is shifting some and some of the top 25 are starting to creep into the top 15, which I know it’s like everything with cycles of who’s up and who’s down, but like we’ve agreed it’s not gonna be the same ole top schools getting the top guys every year, well except bama, I sadly don’t see that train getting derailed soon

Was set to sign with Baylor. Third party site posted his decision first thing this morning and ruined his day. Texas and others got wind of him being upset and began the hard pursuit to flip him. First he backed announcement up to 3:00 pm and then a few minutes later canceled announcement all together. Feel bad for the kid. Hate to see adults wanting to be first to know something and post on their site ruin a kids day.

My guess is Texas is in the lead now and Baylor is trailing at this point.

That is interesting. I thought the number for Texas was going to be 23-24. That puts us at 26-27 for the year. I know there is going to be some attrition this year.

He said they are looking to sign 1 or 2 more in this signing period that ends on Friday. I would think Hookfin is one of those.

OU is putting in good work with a couple more unannounced. I haven't heard anything about 4* WR Demariyon Houston and he hasn't signed with anyone or committed to anyone since he and Texas parted ways.
