    Deer Blind Window Question

All of our deer blinds (gun & bow) have the deerview standard hinge windows that mount from the inside of the blind. We have all of our windows that seal up against 2X4's but I was curious to see what you guys do to prevent water from getting inside during big rain storms.

Here is a picture that shows how our windows are mounted:

Wasn't sure if there's anything we can do to prevent the water from getting inside since these windows are mounted from the inside. We are using SmartSide panels on all of our blinds and we would like to keep the inside of our blinds from getting water inside. Thanks for your help!

    Deer Blind Window Question

Our new Boss Game System blinds have rain guards over the windows. Little aluminum eaves over each one. Might give that a try. Might not work in heavey blowing rain, but will with light run off from the roof. Ours at fiberglass so they roof does not have an eave.

    Zoom in to see them.

I don't have a pic but I made rain guards out of galvanized flashing. It sticks out 6" or so and comes down a few inches on each side. As stated above it does not help much when it is raining sideways but it diverts runoff. It also provides a little shade for the window.

The best thing to do is replace them with the deerview deluxe windows. I had the same problem, the first 1/3 of the front of my blind would stay wet for a month after a good rain.
