    4.5 year old 10 pointer

I really did not want to take this buck yet, but he turned up limping badly and would lay down every few minutes. The last buck I let go like that, I found two days later through the help of buzzards. The coyotes had gotten him although there was blood on his horns and two days later I found a dead coyote about 100 yards a away. So the choice I had with this one was a quick death with a bullet or take a chance on a slow death from coyotes. Click image for larger version

Cool deer. Very unique rack. Hopefully he was in enough shape to get some meat out of him as well.

I think he must have bumped his G4 on the right side when he was in velvet. He weighed 155 on the hoof so will get a fair amount of meat from him.

Did you find out why he was limping?

The leg does not appear to be broken, although it could be cracked.
