My wife and I were driving the other evening on a 75mph 2 lane highway. There were 2 cars in front of us and their speed varied from 55-65. The 2nd car the one in front of us did not get any closer than 100 yards to the car in front of them. When we had a broken line on our side and plenty of room to pass, she did. When we moved back between the 2 cars, the first car slams on the brakes and moves over to the shoulder. We pass this car staying in our lane on our side of the road. It was a sheriff. He promply lights us up and pulls us over. He informs us we passed in a no passing zone. We tell him we did not. The broken yellow line on our side of the road means we can pass. He then says when we passed him!!! WTH? He was the guy driving like an idiot slamming on his brakes and pulling off the road! Yes the line was a solid double by this time but we never crossed it. After seeing neither of us has had a ticket in decades he lets us go with a verbal warning. I was thinking of calling his department and letting them know of this guys shenanigans.

Call, he shouldn't be pulling those bullying tactics. If he pulls over to the shoulder then he is off the road and you have no choice but to pass him since he is no longer in the current lane.Comment
