I guess it takes place of those gadgets you have to buy if you want to be found.

I may try it out since I have a wilderness area a couple of miles from the house. Many of the canyons you go into you loose cell service.

I listen to the search and rescue scanner and law enforcement just pings your phone to get a generalized area to search.

Listening to a rescue call now. The male is lost. He says he can see the city lights and he also thinks he is on a specific trail. The trail he thinks he is on you cannot see the city lights at all.

I heard the rescue guys talking about pinging his phone to get his location.

The trail it sounds like he is on is a beast during the day. It's cold and dark now. It's probably gonna be a really long night. I bet the rescue don't get to him until midnight at the earliest.
