    Lubbock Part-Time Job

I'm a student at Texas Tech studying Natural Resources Management and would like to get a part-time job next semester. I think I have my class schedule worked out to where I'm done by 12:00 everyday. I can work afternoons after class and some weekends if needed. I should be able to start Mid-January.

Throughout high school, I've worked on a ranch near Sweetwater doing many different tasks including cattle work, building/repairing fence, metal building construction, general upkeep and repairs, welding, building a set of cattle working pen, etc. I have also done many welding projects (Stick and Mig) on my own time including building two flatbed trailers, H-Braces, Pipe Fence, deer feeders, deer blinds, a high rack, multiple smokers, and many other projects. I also have an education 7018 welding certification.

I might have found a possible job working for a farmer near Lubbock, but I wanted to see what my options were. I'm really open to any kind of job, so just let me know what you have.

    Thank you,
    Kanyon Carper

My son works for a farmer/rancher near Anton who hires college kids. I'll ask if they are hiring.

I worked for a pecan shelling place up there during my time at TTU. It is called Pecan Ridge. John is the owner and a great guy to work for.

Also, not more than a day job but I’ve got some antler mounts that need to be put together if you were interested in some side money.

If you’re looking for short term work to make some good money between now and Christmas get to tarpinng cotton modules. I put a kid on with a few farmers a few weeks back and he’s knocking out 50-60 modules a night, and they pay $10-12 a module.

That's good money. If I had known about that I would have been doing that during college

I learned it in high school. Have me lots of beer and gas money, plus the excuse not to make it home for curfew

Thanks for everyone’s input. I’m not really looking to work until next semester as I have less than two weeks before Christmas break and have finals thrown in there also.

My son is at Tech as well. He's in the same boat for next semester.
