    Input needed

Due to an injury as a child I use my left foot 85/15 compared to my right foot. I wear my work boots daily for 10-12 hours. My left foot has recently been hurting. Wife wants me to see a doctor but I think it’s just life... here’s a pic of my foot at the end of my day. What can a dr do? I’ll have to work either way.

You should see a Dr. yesterday. That looks horrible, like a bed sore almost. Are you diabetic? How much work can you do without that foot?

prayers sent.. what part of your foot is hurting? My Left foot started hurting last year when I would walk or stand for long periods... I made an appointment with the doc and he told me I was wearing too small of Shoe/Workboot..... As you grow older your feet flatten out and your foot actually gets longer and wider.. I wore a 11 1/2 d for 15 years .. Now I wear a 12 EE and no more problems... but my foot did not look like that either...

Go see a doctor. You don't have to be told that foot is jacked up....you know it. On the other hand, my grandma learned to walk on a prosthetic leg at the age of 70 so if you decide to skip the doctor, there's hope for you.

This made me laugh out loud. The pic looks worse than it actually is. That pic was after a long day of sweat and welding. It doesn’t do this all the time. I was just wondering if anybody else has the same issue after a long day of work. My wife mentioned trench foot but it clears up after a couple hours out of my boots. This is a current pic since the original post. Thanks for the responses gentlemen.

No I’m not diabetic. I run my family’s machine shop, where my injury happened when I was 7, I’m on my feet all day everyday but like I said I use me left foot 85/15 compared to my right foot. At 32 my left leg/foot is compared to a 55 year old. I was just wondering if anybody had any input or suggestions for what I’m going through.

I have no idea what a dr is going to do for you, but do you know?

What if a Podiatrist can recommend a better boot and insolde that can help?

And are you wearing the right socks in your boot?

Seems like your feet are critical to what you do for a living, so have you bought the best possible footware you can?

And do you really not have the time to change out the socks during the day?

Are you changing out the boots every other day, so each pair of work boots gets a day to air out?

There is a reason we were issued two pair of boots in the Army, and only given wool socks. And on ruck marches, as some point, the order was given to change socks.

We have a podiatrist on here. I forget his handle. His office is in Forney? I think...

I wear the most comfortable Red Wings I have found with custom insoles, I also wear a heavy weight wool sock daily. I’m about to try switching to a mid weight wool sock to see if there is a difference. I let my boots dry out and put them on a Peet dryer when needed. I’ll be contacting a podiatrist after the first of the year. My wife was worried after seeing my foot this evening. But again, I feel it’s just life and I need to deal with it.
