    Shed Dogs

Do any of yall use your dogs to find sheds? I am trying to find the best methods and see what sort of success you might be having.
    Thanks

I’ve tried with mine a little. He does well near the house but has to much energy at the lease.

There are some really good ones, I've not had a ton of luck with mine but I've not work Ed nearly as hard on that as on birds and blood

I really hope to at least get mine interested once they start dropping later on, seems like it would be really fun.

My dog can do it. She'll get the scent and run to it and smell it, getting her to pick them up reliably is the problem. Being a high energy pointer doesn't help. She'll pick them up and bring them to me every now and then but she'd rather do something else. If I had force fetched her she'd probably be great. She'd just rather do something else and I don't have the time or patience to force fetch her.

I spent a lot of time teaching her to find them, unfortunately that was wasted training since she won't pick them up every time.

Did you use real antlers or the ones you can buy?

Both. I started her the first week I got her playing fetch with a rubber antler. All scent training has been done with real shed antlers.

You have to use sheds too, cutoffs won't work. The scent you are training for is in the pedical.
