I can get unleaded gas without any alcohol in it. will it work in a Coleman catalytic heater

Would not think so unless it is specifically rated for unleaded gas, like Coleman's Duel-Fuel line of stoves and lanterns.

Sure thing you can; I've used unleaded gasoline in all my Coleman appliances over the years.

Gasoline will get the generator dirty much quicker than White Gas (due to the additives), but it is easy to clean. A trick I use is to put about a cap full of carb cleaner (the kind you pour in the gas tank) in each time I fill up the Coleman.

White Gas is best, but gasoline works and is much cheaper.
