Dang rats! How do I get rid of them?!

We have a wooden shed in the yard where we keep plastic totes of decorations and this evening I went in there and found rat droppings. We have a neighbor who apparently has a rodent problem and the city has been called previously to their house to investigate but obviously nothing was done. I have put down Tom Cat bait previously and I found one dead rat in the yard and my wife found another dead one in a bin (I had to hear about it for an hour. Lol). That darn thing chewed a hole in the bin and got in there and messed things up. Luckily they were non of sentimental value. Besides burning it down, what else can I do to get rid of them? My wife said something about Irish spring soap bars. I told her we need use real science. So is there a chemical I can spray? Anyone use one of those electric rodent repellents?

“Just one bite” bars work well for us.

Bait and traps. Plenty of good and effective options. Take away food and water sources, as well. Save your money on the electronic devices. Be persistent and prepared to change up your baits and traps, because rats are quick learners.

Just watched several good videos on u tube that showed two different kind of rat traps that uses 5 gallon buckets. The rat traps were very easy to make at home and seemed very effective.

If you burn down your shed, they will move into your house.

after 1700 in tractor damage last year, I have been experimenting.
sticky pads, just one bite for the kill... downy dryer sheets tucked everywhere works great for prevention!!!

Go rescue a rat terrier or fiest dog from the pound. They generally hate rats and love to shake them hard. Remove all water and anything that might resemble food. Rat [emoji232] trap set in that empty vermin ridden tote too

X3 on the just one bite but keep it where the dogs can't get to it.

Stray cats work better then anything the rats will leave!!

You have to figure out how they are getting in, and block the entrance\exit.

Then you can set traps out.

We had to call pest control for the attatic last year. They will come in to get out of the cold and leave during the day to eat. So until you cut them off from the outside world, they never go for the baited traps. Once they are cutt off and get hungry, they'll go for the bait and the trap does its job.

You'll never get rid of the treerats\roof rats, which is what you have, so again, you need to stop them from getting into your shed.
