    What all do you eat?

Been watching a ton of Meat Eater on Netflix and the guy on there is all about eating the heart and liver of every animal he kills.

I haven't ever done either... I could see myself trying the heart the next deer I snag, but I dunno about the liver. Never had liver before, and don't have a desire... The liver is just a big filter for toxins. I can't imagine it being good for you or tasting decent.

So, my question to y'all... Do you eat the heart and liver? Anything else you eat?

The heart is awesome. I tried liver one time and didnt care for it. I tried to bleed it out but never could, blood just poured out when cut.

I'll save a heart every now and then. It's not bad. Never tried the liver.

We used to eat lots of cow tongue and liver as a kid growing up. It was cheap.
Mom would boil the tongue a little to get the skin off the bake it in the oven like a roast. It was good. Even better the next on homemade bread, government cheese and Ketchup.

Mom would cost the liver in Flour and fry them in her cast iron skillet in Crisco.
Served with a side of garden raised taters and garden raised green or yellow beans.

Mm mm I'm all hungry thinking about it.

Save a lot more off a pig than a deer. I love sweatbreads, cheek, tounge, but deer not so much.

I’ll eat heart and I’d probably eat the tounge since I linke lengua. Liver to me always looks good but every time I try it I just don’t like it.

I've eatin heart, tongue, liver and tripe. But not out of a deer. I suppose it'd taste the same out of them than it does a cow or anything else.

Don't care to try heart. Although I have never tasted it, I suppose if someone had some already cooked I would try it, just to see how it tastes. As for liver, no, although I have never tried deer liver, I can't stand cow liver, so no thanks. Pretty much stick to the regular cuts of meat on a deer.
Cow tongue it is really good though and eat that without reservation. Goes great in a tortilla with some chopped Serrano peppers and chopped onion...mmmm...good. I also love me some menudo (cow stomach tripe) but will only eat it usually around Christmas time these days topped with chopped onion and squeeze of lemon. Yum.

Anything fried, including liver, is good.

I eat it all and have for my entire life just like my parents and grandparents do.

                        Heart, kidneys, tongue, testicles, marrow

Only thing I don’t like is liver... but one of these days I’m gonna try one of steve’s Recipes for it to see if I can enjoy it

Guts go in the gut pile for me. I have tried heart and liver multiple times, and I don't care for either. I am also not eating the testicles of anything. I have not tried those, but I am not that hungry, thanks.

We have eaten just abut all of it. Not wild about Liver as I have never had a recipe I really enjoyed. We literally pick down to nothing when I shoot a deer. Some empty bones, hide and hooves. (Those you can't boil enough to make it edible), but we do make bone broth.

I have eaten whitetail and muley liver and heart. Started because of meat eater also. I love beef liver and onions so I prepare same way and really like it. No one else in family does so don’t do it often.
