I have been in talks with a local dealership on a new truck. Going there today for a Test Drive and to negotiate. Hope they are will Sharpen their Pencil and deal with me on a New 2008 truck. If not, uh well, I will keep driving my 2006...

I can’t stand going to the dealership to negotiate.

It’s a lot less stressful over email/phone.

Get buyers orders and play dealerships off one another until you get the price down.

You’re a smart young man by not mentioning what type of truck you wanted to buy. That way half of the readers wouldn’t be able to tell you what a bad decision you were making because you were not buying the kind of truck they drove! Good decision and good luck at the dealership.

So I did start the deal online, and felt like I was close to where I wanted to be. Walked in, talked a little, test drove and then started negotiating.
Funny how you talk about making others eat crow on a deal, maybe leaving and going to a different dealer, or best yet, CHANGING BRANDS.
Talked them UP on my trade in by 2k and got the number I wanted.
I can now say I am a Diesel Truck Owner. Hope this one is as good as my last 5 new ones.

Congrats! Nice rig. Did you buy in Hallettsville? That Almost the way it looks. My dad bought a truck there back in 07, they were a good group to deal with. I love my ‘16 Duramax, it’s been great
