The other day we took The Boy to the doc cause he was complaing of a sore throat. We're thinking strep. He tests negative for strep and flu, and a quick chest xray confirms pneumonia... again. "What do you mean pneumonia? His breathing is fine, pulse-ox is good,..." After a few "Why don't you go to med school before you question my diagnosis?" glances, they call an ambulance to take him from Montgomery to Texas Children's Hospital - again! Some of you may remember our first experience with TCH.
Anyway, we get there, retest for strep and flu, get some blood work, the ER docs start reading Hayden's history, an kinda leave us scared in the dark for a while with a scared little boy and scared grandparents waiting to find out how bad it is. Also, we had no cell signal in that part of the building to keep everyone who was not there informed. Miserable!
After about 5 hrs of waiting the doc comes in and says the he believes the Hayden's pneumonia is manageable with antibiotics alone and they see no reason at this point to admit him. Gave us lots of instruction on what to watch for and discharged us. THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!
Now I told you all that story to tell you this story. I was at work when I was notified of the ambulance. I left immediately for TCH. (Even beat the ambulance.) On the way there, I am trying to think of who else needs to be called and informed. The first "family member" that comes to mind is Texasbowhunter.com. I took such great comfort knowing that as soon as I got to TCH, I would have a second to inform the GS and request a prayer or two. I don't know how Amber and I would have made it last time without the prayers and support yall gave.
Unfortunately, I later discovered that cell signal problem and was not able to post. So it was important to me to take a moment and tell this story, and let you all know how important you are to my family. I couldn't think of a better place than the Eternal Flame.
