On a happier note, I closed on my land today. Only 1 acre but it's out in the country in a very small, laid back subdivision. Looking to start building after the first of the year.

Today it has been 4 years since I lost my dad. They say time heals all wounds, well that's true to an extent. It still hurts but only on the inside.

I love you and miss you, dad!

I lost my Dad over 20 years ago and I still miss him greatly. Nothing can replace the empty place in your heart when you lose your Dad. I feel for you and I can tell you that it gets easier as the years go by, then you can miss him without feeling so sad.

So I am a newbie on here...my husband has been on for a while (Donfish84) and I am glad to have found this thread and decided to stop sneakin on his login and get my own. I love to hear "this" that we have described as an eternal flame. It truly describes the passion and burning that makes us get out and do what we do. Many people call us crazy for sitting in extreme weather and going through all the stuff we do for a chance at harvesting an animal. what the 'outsiders' dont get and its hard to explain is all the stuff in between the hunts and the other things we see and encounter in the field.

I love being able to share and enjoy everything involved with hunting and bowhunting with my husband; its what we do together and not many understand it. how could you not love sharing this life/sport with your spouse who loves it as much as you do.

within just a few days of being a part of this community i can see the awesome family that this is and how supportive you all are of each other. thank you & happy hunting!
