Mowed 2 acres of yard this morning, then did some tractor and fence work. My back sure ain't what it used to be. I'm whupped now and fixin to hit the rocking chair.

Well the letter writing thread got me motivated. I've written two letters so far with more to come. Forgot how enjoyable it was even if I wrote only 3-4 pages to each

Well had our first derailment with the horse yesterday. Took him for a short ride, he waited till we were furthest from the house and crow hopped away after I had got off him to check a hole in the fence and my saddle, he waited till I had a foot in the stirrup to mutiny.

Walked little under a mile back home, but the joke was on him. Everytime I get off I wrap the one piece reins around the saddle horn... He can run but he ain't getting his head to the ground

Glad you didn't get dumped on your noggin Russ, had a similar issue back in the day. Stupid rope I was pulling fence posts with got up under my horses tail, thank God I was on the ground. Rope went down the side of my leg as he ran off and the posts went between my legs and jerked me to the ground and away we went. Gert strap broke and saved me from 2 strands of barbed wire ready to be tacked up.

Yea it could of been alot worse, I've never. Claimed to be no bronc rider and honestly if I'd been on him he could've hurt me pretty good.

I guess I'm maturing, I walked back, caught him and lunged him till he had a good workout and put him in time out till 10:30pm. What should of been a 1.5 hour ride turned into five hours saddle time for him
