just got in from the ranch...dad and I spent a couple days dodging the muddy areas but were still able to get around for the most part. Deer are finally starting to show starts of life again and seems like the rut never really starts until right around Christmas on our place. Got one cull spotted we need to go after but nothing else I have seen to get my blood flowing unfortunatly.
Had the whole place to ourselves, it was almost boring...looking forward to next week & finally decompress / totally disconnect from work. Hope the weekend forecast is wrong as it's just now drying up & we don't get too much of the anticipated rain on Chistmas eve / day.
saludos y felicidades...

Woohoo!!! My injured wife is going to gut it up so we can head to Bee County to spend New Years at my long time friend's ranch with him, his wife and their cousins. I have not hunted once this year due to needing to nurse her, and he needs some culls and doe taken, so I will at least get meat for the freezer.
Their buddy, Tipper, is off limits!

Safe travels for all this weekend. Be sure and pack extra blankets, food, and water in your vehicle, you or a stranger may need them in a pinch.
Boss is serving fajitas for lunch today then we are off until Tuesday. Plans around our place for a little tractor work, family time, and maybe a hunt or two over the next few days.
Y'all be safe out there.
