Six different kinds of peppers are FINALLY starting to take off but we are still a long way from baby peppers.

Tomorrow is Neely's 5th birthday. Oh my! Valerie scheduled a birthday party without realizing the conflict of Memorial Day. Only 3 kids were able to RSVP that they were coming. Not exactly sure when the "big party" is going to be now.

Yesterday was a "movie day" since it was rainy most of the day. We (I) did housework and rented volume 4 of the planet earth series (seasonal forests and ocean deep). I get a big kick out of the fact that Blaine chooses to watch this stuff when there is all kinds of other junk she could easily select. Mom always warned me my kids would probably turn out like me and give me fits. Of course Mom is right but sometimes it's actually pretty cool!

Ronnie, we got a whopping half inch at the houses, but the south half of the ranch looks like it got considerably more. There must have been a real good amount of rain to our southwest as Los Olmos creek is really pushing some water through our ranch.

Morning. Just up after 12 hours of sleep...body still adjusting from week in Russia.

We got rained out yesterday in top of the 4th, leading 7-1. Need 4 complete innnings to call the game. Given it's the last game of the season and will determine the seeding for the playoffs, we will give it another go at 1:00 today. Then going to burn some burgers this evening.

Tomorrow morning I am slated for knee surgery.

Went through the low water crossing (Los Olmos creek) this morning on the ranch at about 7:30, and the creek was bone dry. Tried to go through it again around noon, and drove up on this! Hopefully it will be down by morning so I can get to the south half of the ranch.

Ran the shrimp boat aground twicet. It was the Captain's fault.....for lettin me and Codeman drive.

Caught the net on sumpin that Hurricane Ike left us and ripped the hydraulic pump that runs the winch off the deck.

Them doors and the net will make a man outta ya.....haulin em in by hand!

I am about to pick up my National Sales Manager at DFW and spend a couple of days around North Texas with him visiting accounts and a very important meeting with a buying group tomorrow morning. What sucks is I am going to have to put on slacks and no flip flops for two days.

I got soaked this weeknend on Lake Tawakoni, it's finally back to full pool after about 2 years. And I think there's possible thunderstorms this coming weekend, northeast texas anyway.

Home on the couch, knee surgery went well. No arthritis in the knee and it was nothing but a meniscus tear. Of course drugs, have me pain free now...but I'm optimistic this is going to be a real quick recovery. Has to be as I have a baseball tournament this week and a fishing tourney the last weekend in May!
