I'm not real sure of the original purpose of this thread, but I have a story to share about my son. About 8-10 years ago he was a young man in his late teens, and he never was real excited about hunting. Then we went to a friend's ranch in Bandera that is covered with axis deer. The friend wanted them removed as they were competing with his cattle. We placed my son in a blind in a location that was soon to be called "The Killing Hole." About 3 hours later, we heard 4 shots, and when we talked to him, he said he shot 4 deer. When we went to help clean them, we found 5 deer, not 4. One had been standing behind another, and died from a passthrough. That started a fire burning in him that is still going strong. He has been my hunting buddy for the past few years since his brothers have moved farther away. If not for the "Massacre on the Medina" I would have been hunting by myself for the past several years. As of now, Stephen is serving in the Navy in California. I no longer have a hunting buddy close by and I got off the lease I was on. That's OK though because when things settle down a bit for him and the rest of us, there will be many more hunting stories to tell over a campfire.

That's what it's for!
Thank you lord for the rain. I have my tow strap out and ready for the forklift pulls!
Here, My daughter and myself are going to the lease this weekend to cut wood and haul it back to camp with several others. She will be riding her 4 wheeler barking out orders in true fashion. She is 9 and hunting since she was 6. I know in years to come I will cherish these times because they grow so fast... Hang on to em boys as long as you can...

My son is in Montana and I really miss duck, deer and pig hunting with him. If your son is in the SF Bay Area connect him with me and I'll get him on private property to hunt. He pays a special reduced rate or resident rates being stationed here. Maybe he'll come home to Texas with some blacktail deer antlers.
I'm in Vienna Austria for work this week. People here have funnier accents than in New York,
