I’m sure some of you remember our story 4months ago.
We lost our 5 month old to SIDS. It has been a very rough time for our family. My wife is obviously having the hardest time. This morning I think I’m starting to se a little healing begin. She sent me a poem she wrote for our son Noah and I would like to share it with y’all.
What I wouldn’t give to hold you one more time
To have your tiny hand grasping onto mine
What I wouldn’t give to have you wake me crying in the night
Just so I would come and wrap you in my arms so tight
What I wouldn’t give to see your smiling eyes looking into my soul
You fulfilled me more than you will ever know
What I wouldn’t give to watch you learn to crawl
Or see you as a toddler chasing your soccer ball
What I wouldn’t give to see your first Christmas and the magic in your eyes
When you opened your first present and were totally surprised
Though I will miss you everyday as long as I live
There are things you gave to me that I never can forget
Your bright and contagious laughter
Your mumbles and soft chatter
Your giggles when I tickled your tiny feet
Your kisses so soft and sweet
Your scent fresh out of the bath will never leave my mind
Your never ending reckless love so pure and so kind
All these things I miss every second of every day
I want you here with me but you weren’t meant to stay
I know in my heart you are where we all strive to go
Sitting in heaven next to Jesus with wings as white as snow
