Well, I hate the reason this hunt started but I love the hunt and the friends made as a result. As always, thanks to those who made this happen in the beginning. You know who you are. I can never, ever repay you.
Hunting Dates - 11/16 - 11/20
Location - Dimmit county (near Dilley)
Ranch - Hell, I don’t even know if it has a name. If it did, it would be “El ...” or “La Ponchita” or some Spanish crap. Doesn’t matter.
I’ll be meeting my good buddy Kevin in Dilley around 1 pm tomorrow. From there I head to the ranch to get settled in, unpack, practice a bit, and have a couple of cold ones. I should be hunting by 3:00 or so.
History...
With this being “5th Annual,” those not familiar with this hunt, may wonder what transpired in years past. Those familiar may want another look. I always enjoy looking at the level of success I’ve had on this ranch.
Year 1. 161 6/8”
Year 2. 137”
Year 3. 152 3/8”
Year 4. 137”
Here are a few photos from this year. Some are possible targets (including the first pic fatty). Yes the place is high fenced. 4500 acres of south Texas heaven is what it is. They only raise deer they’ve grown on the ranch and they do it well. I’ll see some giants but those are reserved for family to shoot. I’m in the 150” or under $ bracket.
Y’all check in occasionally, as I’ll be keeping this as live as possible. Phone service has always been good and for fun, I’m taking one of my cell cameras for additional photo sharing. Thanks for looking!!
