The kershaw leek like the one above is notorious for opening and thats why a safety is needed.. i love mine and it's the slickest little knife for $30. Not all models have the safeties. Between my brother and i we probably have most of them.. the decent ones atleast!

I have a few leek's but i have never paid 30$ always more around the 50$ price. Are you buying them on ebay. I just bought a new leek about 2 months ago at walmart for 50.
