what type of field are you hunting over? I'm assuming some kind of crop being out there but you said you have grass about two feet tall. Is that just on the edges or is that the whole field, any water?
Layouts if you got them = lights out. If not you can probably get away with laying down in the grass using the burlap like a blanket and tossing some grass over you. Been successful many times doing that.
It’s likely the edge of a playa lake, and that is about as y’all as the cover gets out here unless you have Johnson grass planted or a stand of tumble weeds. I’ve actually done that too, where I staked tumble weeds together to hide behind
