I remember the Houston radio station broadcasting from the rest area in Brookshire and giving away hats and koozies

i hunt behind the house, work all day tomorrow and probably won't see much of a parade around this area

Be safe if you are driving in the parade

And some of those "Barneys" with feeders and stands on the trucks and trailers will be the ones who kill bigger bucks than the guys who put in hours and hours of time.
      Simply from dumb luck

Just like the guy that buys a bow on the way to the deer lease and ends up killing the biggest buck ever taken off of the lease on Saturday morning. Sighted it in with headlights from truck when they got to lease

My normal backroad route is closed due to the Pedernales being over the road. I have to join the circus heading west on 71 towards Llano. Good thing I'm leaving early!

I can remember in Llano that we got either the whole day off or half day off for opening weekend. Had a FFA big buck contest Monday morning.

I'll bet Allsup's sells more ice and burritos this weekend than any other weekend this year.

            Buc-ee's too.

Nascar is in town also. They will be carrying beer out of that Bucee's faster than they can wheel it in...

Bucee's in Madisonville will have 45 "tore-up". Probably out of ice too.
