    Marks on a gun solution?

I have a few indentions in a wood stock that are there because I’m an idiot. It’s a nice stock and would like to get them out if possible. Would a gunsmith do this? Is it possible?

Steam may work. A damp towel and an iron may draw the shallow dings out. I’ve done that with a Garand of mine years ago and was pretty pleased.

What type of finish is on the stock? High gloss poly shy of stripping and refinishing not much you can do oil finish is pretty simple to repair if not too deep.

It’s a Browning X bolt but not really a high gloss finish.
